About the cottage
Grade II Listed Georgian fronted Cardwen Farmhouse dates back to the 17th Century, perhaps earlier, and could not have more character. Covered in picture perfect Wisteria, all views are over the large mature garden, the grounds of the old farm and barns to the countryside beyond. The interior has been designed with and eye for detail and comfortable charm. This gorgeous home has 4 bedrooms, redecorated in 2022; Sleeping 8 (plus cot) you will discover 1 large King bed under a historical vaulted ceiling with ensuite. 1 Double bed large room with ensuite and 2 further stylishly appointed double bedrooms. All Bathrooms and ensuite have heated lit mirror cabinets. A spacious large family bathroom upstairs. Downstairs via either of 2 staircases, you will find a large boot room with WC, a beautiful large generously appointed kitchen (we challenge you to run out of cups, bowls and cutlery!) with granite worktops, large range style electric Stove, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and farmhouse dining table. This kitchen is perfect for large feasts cooked for groups of family and friends, laughter filling the air mingled with aromas from the Stove. Large character sitting room with original stone and wood panel walls, slate floors, and 55” Smart Ultra HD TV with Sky and DVD Player. Here you will find OWL TV – a live camera link on the Smart TV to the Barn Owl box in next door Lily Cottage. A real treat, especially when chicks start hatching. New plump sofa’s, where you can sit draped in one of our fleecy throws mesmerised by the Woodburner left ready for guests to simply light with the strike of a match. Second sitting room with carved stone surround open fire (currently unable to be used), TV with built in DVD and Sky mini. So, that oh so important Football match need not be missed as Corrie can play on the other TV at the same time or sit at the antique desk and pen the classic postcard home. Traditional wooden shutters frame a lovely window seat with views across the countryside fields where cows or sheep can often be seen grazing.
We frequently hear people tell us that this is their home from home, and have not wanted for anything as all they could of needed has been provided for and more. Many original artworks, including paintings and popular prints by owner Siobhan that can be purchased. Games, DVD’s, large collection of books & comics provided. Repeat guests often find upgrades as each year we invest in making this lovely family home better and better.

To the rear of the Farmhouse, next to a spring fed fountain is a separate teak dining table and 8 chairs with views over a duck pond. Visitors also enjoy access to all of the 2 acre mature gardens, particularly celebrated for its collection of over 200 varieties of Hydrangea, Rhododendron and Camellia.
