General FAQ’s
What is your dog policy?
We LOVE dogs! We have a very bouncy Cockerpoo of our own, Archie. As a responsible pet owner you are welcome to bring 2 dogs, please contact us if you have other requirements – we are happy to have a conversation. Regretfully, after frequent instances of irresponsible owners leaving mess we now ask that dogs are kept on leads. We are surrounded by farmland and livestock, we keep chickens on the farm but will keep them in a very large enclosure when dogs are present.
Unfortunately, we have had to take the decision to ban XL Bully dogs from the site. Whilst we acknowledge this is a great shame for many beautiful animals we are unable to accommodate them. This is because our gardens and grounds are open and shared. We cannot take the risk that a potentially dangerous animal slips out of unfenced accommodation without a muzzle.
Cardwen Farmhouse has a small patio area that is secure to most dogs. For Erin, Lily, and Hook Cottage the shared 2 acre gardens are enclosed on all sides by waist high wire fencing but the two driveways and orchard are open points in the boundary. Blake Cottage is fenced and gated, but this fence will not hold all animals. Please review the photographs and make your own decision. All guests are asked to leave cottages clean as they find them, we particularly ask that dog owners ensure that pet hair is removed. We have plenty of balls and treats, have spare towels, blankets and throws, bowls and bags if needed. Dogs are not allowed on beds, we prefer them not to be on furniture, but understand that life is not always that simple. Should your dog be normally allowed on sofas we realise they will see our sofas as perfectly acceptable places for a comfortable sleep. However, the sofa MUST be thickly covered and all trace of dog hair be removed before check out.
What time is check in / check out?
Check in is 4pm. Check out is 10am. However, if we are provided a mobile number at booking we will contact guests on the day of arrival if we are able to finish our cleaning early to allow an earlier check in. We ask all guests to leave the cottage clean as they find it with the beds stripped into provided laundry bags, to reduce the potential spread of germs.
We have seen your property advertised elsewhere online. Can we book with you direct, or extend our stay with you where we have already booked with an agent?
Please do! It is cheaper for you, as we don’t charge any booking/admin fees other than the cost of rental. When you book with an agent you are also paying a whopping commission on top of rental.
We are celebrating a special event and have a request….
Please feel free to make us part of your plans, we will help in any way we can. We are adding a range of cakes, balloons, flowers, banners, bunting and more to our arrival options. Allow us to tailor a package to your requirements.
Is there parking with the cottages?
Yes! Cardwen Farmhouse has its own driveway which could fit up to 8 cars. Hook Cottage has parking for 2/3. Lily Cottage has parking for 2/3 and Erin Cottage has parking for 2. Blake Cottage has room for several cars. Parking is always next to your cottage on our own land, not on the roadway.
Is there WiFi?
Yes, all cottages have free access to Super Fast Wifi.
Are you near a pub / shops?
Yes, you can walk into our village of Pelynt (5 mins up the road) where you will find a Spar with Post Office, Premier with Butcher, gastro pub The Jubilee Inn, 2 hairdressers, 2 Churches, motor garage and The Hive, a cooperative selling plants, antiques, local artwork etc. We can help with local taxis, and buses can be caught from the village green.
Can I order food / provisions to be in the cottages when I arrive?
Yes! You have several options; We work with village suppliers to offer you locally sourced beautiful breakfast packages as an additional service. Without charge we can unpack supplies from our village Spar (who will deliver your pre paid items to us after you have ordered from them). You can also order grocery delivery companies to deliver your items no earlier than 2 hours before check in. However, please check with us before ordering from supermarkets to ensure that someone will be here to meet the driver. Chilled / Frozen items can be put away for you. Obviously, if you wish to arrange for deliveries after you check in, that is no problem at all. Don’t forget to use the cottage name, although we are happy to eat crisps that are delivered incorrectly hahaha.
