Get to know Cardwen Farm before you arrive!

Lily Cottage, Erin Cottage and Hook Cottage are the perfect base to explore Cornwall from. Ideally placed just far enough away from the A38 / A30 you feel nestled by the sea and land but not so far that the sat nav gets you lost down narrow lanes growing turf in the middle…

Many beaches can be easily reached within 5 miles including Looe Beach, Lantic Bay, Hannafore and Talland Bay. The close by South West Coast Path will take your breath away. The quiet tidal riverside village of Lerryn is a little known gem. In fact there is so much to do, see and eat we could write another 10 pages. 7 days may not be enough. The fantastic Adrenaline Quarry, Golf, horse-riding, cycling, art trails, lakes, historical sites and castles, paddling, several beautiful National Trust destinations including Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Antony House. Why not take a glass bottom boat to Looe Island, or try a tipple at nearby Cornish Orchards. Popular Mevagissey, Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project, or further afield the Minack Theatre or Post Isaac (home of TV’s Doc Martin) make great day trips. Let alone all the amazing things you can do here at Cardwen Farm! Art, Dining with your own Private Chef experience, Yoga, meeting Birds of Prey up close….

Logs bought from the farm (first basket in cottage provided FOC) can be used in woodburners, whilst overhead the lack of street lighting will only allow you to be dazzled by a very special star lit sky. You may even catch the flight of our resident Barn Owls. All cottages enjoy Owl TV : a live feed from the owl box in the eves of Lily Cottage roof direct to their TV.

Taken over by new owners October 11th 2018, Cardwen has seen significant investment including superfast intranet, new mattress’ and linens, upgrades to facilities, redecoration, Smart TV’s and a whole new friendly attitude. Living on site, the Baker Family are always happy to answer any questions or make recommendations.

Clive, Siobhan and their son Will along with Cockerpoo Archie live at Cardwen Farm and are always happy to help or answer any questions you may have during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you!

Our Facilities

Our holiday cottages should be a home from home experience, what better way to start your holiday than with a cream tea we leave out for you? Cornish tea, coffee & sugar and milk provided. We will leave a complimentary starter kit with toilet rolls, 2 dishwasher tabs, blue cloths, sponge scourer, tea towels, hand and bath towels and cleaning items. Each cottage has its own washing machine. (Laundry liquid not provided). A tumble dryer available for urgent need through Siobhan, £5 per load. This is not guest accessible.

Hook & Lily Cottage have Woodburners which are laid out ready for you on arrival. Additional logs and kindling are available in the barn with the honesty box. We fell and dry our own wood here.

All cottages have SMART Tv’s, so you can also log on to Amazon, Netflix, BBC iplayer etc. (Please don’t forget to log out, we cannot take any responsibility for your accounts or purchases made).

We have superfast Wifi in each cottage at no extra charge. Each cottage has a Nespresso machine, and unusually well stocked kitchens. If there is anything else you need just let us know, we will do our best to find it.

A gas BBQ is available to book and use, gas is free. £20 refundable deposit. You can use this BBQ in our orchard or next to your own cottage. Erin Cottage also enjoys a coal BBQ. Coal can be purchased in the village.
