Birds of Prey Encounters at Cardwen Farm 

Step into the tranquil gardens of Cardwen Farm and experience the unforgettable thrill of meeting magnificent birds of prey up close. Whether you are already a keen birder, even a twitcher, or perhaps there is a Harry Potter fan in the group or, indeed, just keen to experience something majestic and new. Meeting a Barn Owl, or Harris Hawk among other raptors large or small offers a rare opportunity to connect with nature and learn about the ancient art of Falconry. Under expert guidance, you’ll have the chance to handle some of the birds, and even take part in a controlled flight experience – known as a creance flight – where a bird soars and returns gracefully to your gloved hand. Along the way, discover the vital role these birds play in conservation, as well as the fascinating history of their partnerships with humans throughout the centuries.

Immerse yourself in colour and creativity with a relaxing watercolour art experience at Cardwen Farm. Guided by resident artist Siobhan Baker you’ll learn how to paint animals in her distinctive, flowing pointillism style- inspired by the beauty of the Cornish coast and countryside. From the graceful movement of sea creatures to the character of farm and woodland animals, Siobhan’s approach brings every subject to life with vibrant washes and delicate detail. 

Perfect for a rainy day, lessons can take place in Siobhan’s studio at Cardwen Farm, surrounded by tranquil gardens and wildlife, or in the comfort of your own cottage during your stay. Suitable for beginners and experience painters alike, these sessions offer a wonderful opportunity to unwind, earn new techniques, learn some secrets to success and create your own beautiful piece of Cornish art to take home. 

All materials are provided, and private or small group booking are welcome. 

Two hour session. £30 first person, £15 per additional person. Please ask about longer sessions if required. Longer sessions can be spread out over a holiday if required. Local and holiday visitors welcomed. Please ask about Siobhan visiting your location.

Gather your friends for a relaxed and inspiring sip & paint session with local artist Siobhan Baker. Set within the beautiful surroundings of Cardwen Farm, this light-hearted and fun event invites you to unwind, catch up with friends and explore your creativity while painting on your own mini canvas on a charming small wooden easel. 

The table will be beautifully decorated from the garden to create a welcoming, nature and art inspired atmosphere – complete with refreshing Mocktails to sip as you paint. Siobhan will be there to encourage when needed and facilitate smiles as well as keeping glasses topped up. 

Perfect for groups of friends, family gatherings or special celebrations perhaps even team building. No experience necessary, this is a wonderfully creative way to spend time together and take home a unique keepsake.
